The Samruk-Kazyna Fund will continue recruiting interns for the Digital summer program in 2021. This was announced by Managing Director for digitalization of "Samruk-Kazyna" Dauren Kereybayev.
According to him, the results of this year's program have shown effectiveness despite being conducted in an online format due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"In view of the pandemic, we have moved the program online. We also updated the terms of the program, expanding the geography of internships. In addition to the cities of Nur-Sultan and Almaty, Aktobe, Atyrau, Kyzylorda and Ekibastuz were added. The changes also affected the scope of specialties, in addition to the it field, there was an opportunity to pass an internship in the areas of HR, administrative activities, chemical technologists, geologists and oil and gas specialists, environmental engineers," Dauren kereibayev said.
This year, 2,289 Kazakhstani students have applied to participate in the program. According to the results of the selection, 36 people were invited to an internship, which was distributed among 10 portfolio companies of the Fund. At the moment, 4 interns are employed, 18 participants are being communicated, the remaining 10 will have the opportunity to find employment next year upon completion of their studies at the University.
In total, in 2018-2019, 114 students were trained in the group of companies, of which 43 interns were employed in the Fund's portfolio companies-JSC " NC "KTZ", JSC" KEGOK", "JSC" Samruk-Energo " and others.
According to D. Kereybayev, the internship program combines not only the performance of standard work of employees, but also the solution of original tasks.
"For example, the guys automated the collection of data from subsidiaries of JSC" NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" on the number of cases of COVID-19, developing an application and a chatbot. In Samruk-Energo JSC, trainees have developed a neural system similar to international developments, " D.Kereybayev added.
As an example, D. Kereybayev also cited the result of the internship of the 2018 graduate Magzhan Tazhikeyev. At the moment, the graduate works in the transformation office of Samruk-Energo. As part of the internship, M. Tazhikeyev worked on a project for the introduction of an automatic frequency and active power control system in the subsidiary company "Samruk-Energo". If successfully implemented, the project will be a new step in the development of the energy system of Kazakhstan and will bring the company a good profit.
Recall that the Digital summer program was launched in 2018 to involve young professionals in digitalization projects in the Fund's group of companies. A special feature of the program is an internship on real digitalization projects with training from trainers of large it companies, such as SAP, Microsoft, Oracle, Cisco, IBM. Each participant is assigned an individual mentor with extensive experience and high qualifications.
