On June 23, 2015, a meeting of the expert-advisory council under «Samruk-Kazyna» JSC took place. Chief Human Resources Officer of “Samruk-Kazyna” JSC Daniel Cruysberghs presented the key areas of HR transformation to the deputies. The main topic is changing the corporate culture, management style and leadership, potential and skills development of employees.
Chief Human Resources Officer said that HR management of the fund realizes the project on grading of posts.
«We see that salary of directors in one national company is same, regardless of the size of the company, responsibility, solving specific problems. From the perspective of meritocracy it should not be that way. We are realizing grading of posts in the Fund group of companies. The purpose of this work – is to compare work and its content in market of Kazakhstan, CIS and in the world. It will also help us to create a platform for talent rotation,» Mr. Cryusberghs said.
In addition, the Fund will focus on the formation of leaders’ pool of the new wave. In this regards, HR-service develops special program. It involves the appointment of initiative professionals to key positions in priority projects.
Chief Human Resources Officer also reported on the improvement in the recruitment process of employees.
«We are setting new goals and objectives in the employment processes. I want to pay attention to the numbers. 85% of employees hired in 2014 are fluent in English. In 2012 this number was only 30%. 90% of professionals employed in 2014 are fluent in Kazakh. In 2012 they were 50%. In 2014, 70% of hired candidates have foreign diplomas. In 2012 this figure was at 30%. In 2014, 60% of specialists have come from international companies, 40% of them are from «Big four». In 2012 the figures were 20% and 10% respectively. Of course, not everything is perfect, but we are making progress by implementing simple international standards,” Mr. Cruysberghs told during the expert-advisory council under «Samruk-Kazyna» JSC.
The deputies highly praised the initiative of the fund within the HR transformation.
«I am convinced that the Fund is working hard with the staff. I liked that the company is moving towards meritocracy. The organization focuses on continuous training of staff and identifying talents. It is very important. Without a strong, motivated human capital it is impossible to achieve the ambitious goals of transformation,» senator Serik Nugerbekov told.
After reviewing the implementation process of «Samruk-Kazyna» JSC transformation, deputies encouraged the Fund to develop a public-private partnership. According to them, this will be a great contribution in the implementation of initiatives of the Head of State and in the development of the national economy.
